General Health and Wellbeing Resources

Annual health checks - Young people aged 14 or over with a learning disability are entitled to a free NHS health check every year. It is a chance for you to talk to the GP and nurse about any health worries and for GPs to spot and treat any health problems early. 

Chat Health a service for young people offering advice and support about health-related issues. It is a secure, anonymous and confidential text messaging service for young people aged 11-19 years. It will be available Monday to Friday from 9am to 4.30 pm. It allows young people to easily and anonymously get in touch with a healthcare professional for advice and support. Learning disability register, if you have a learning disability then you are eligible to join the Learning Disability Register through your Doctor's surgery. It will help the doctor, nurses and other healthcare staff know what support you need.

Milton Keynes Integrated Autism Service (MKIAS) covers assessment, diagnosis and post-diagnostic support for people aged 16+.

Q:Hub is 1:1 support service for young people aged 11 to 19. It is run by Q:alliance that provides support, information and representation for the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans people. 

Terrence Higgins Trust Milton Keynes offer a wide range of sexual health and advice services to anyone up to the age of 25. 

Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Service offers a range of specialist support including drug and alcohol prevention interventions.

Building Connections is an online service for young people up to the age of 19, empowering them to find a way through loneliness.

Reflect is a free, confidential and 24/7 text support and advice service for anyone who is feeling anxious, lonely, overwhelmed or not quite themselves. Text REFLECT to 85258. 

YoungMinds is UK’s leading charity for children and young people's mental health.

YoungMinds Crisis Messenger text service provides free, 24/7 crisis support across the UK. If you are a young person (under age 25) experiencing a mental health crisis and need support, you can text YM to 85258.

Young Person’s Sanctuary MK is a safe, non-judgemental drop-in’s for 14-17 year olds that you can come to if you find yourself in crisis or mental distress. 

Young Carers MK is a specialist service to support young person who is looking after somebody who has a long term illness, a physical disability or a mental health problem.
